Humans dig their own grave by not utilizing their brains fully. (Not a Blame on AI but on its usage)

It took 400 crore years for us to come to the human state, that we are in today. Our brain evolved from microbes’ life to today’s complex state over a big struggle for long time. Now we are stopping to use it further for the struggles. This means we are slowly going to lose our mental capabilities.

We started using calculators and forgot number tables 2x1, 2x2, 2x3,..,

We started using mobiles and almost forgot that we had such a memory where we used to remember 10 phone numbers on tip of the tongue.

Now ChatGPT – This will destroy our analytical capabilities and the next generation wonders that how humans built ChatGPT!

Next generation, may has surprises about how in past IT engineers wrote code for TCPIP, COMPILERS and OS.

It is a force now for everyone to adopt to AI tools, including the kids in schools- Is this a disaster that we are not letting the kids to explore their capabilities?

We are not letting the children to use their brains fully. This is not a matter of morality and legality, but it is a crime against humanity.

So, what to do. Government should have strict norms for not using ChatGPT during education period. Colleges should ban use of ChatGPT.

But the trend and crowd feeling is different- All say we need to adopt to technology. We keep hearing, if we don’t adopt, we will not survive.

We adopted machines for 4 to 5 decades and lost our physical strengths. Now use AI in all walks of life then loose mental abilities…?

How to adopt then?

  • We need to adopt to use the technology with clear cut boundaries and strict rules. Example, ban use of ChatGPT outputs in university tests, exam, research papers, projects etc.

  • We must always encourage and recognize the human mental abilities. Example, Reward those who develops personal skills and talents. Stop rewarding only AI related talents.

  • We must stop comparing the human output with AI output for the financial and productivity benefits - We use staircase instead of lift to keep us healthy. Same way use AI for the complicated tasks where strictly humans cannot do them.

  • Ultimately, it is everyone’s responsibility to decide for self “how much AI to be used?”- like how much we need to eat sugar?

Remember, AI software is written by few hundred IT engineers. That doesn’t mean somebody sells it to entire world and all use it left and right without a thought.

If not, the days are not far to have generations with lower mental capabilities like the way we are with lower physical capabilities.

Disclaimer- Not used ChatGPT to write this.
