Education System that needs to teach how to act

We have advanced in technology and used it to create a comfortable lifestyle; no civilization was able to establish the same as per the historical records. In the contemporary civilization, we have created many associations, legal bodies, and legal structures in many places to make sure the peace is well maintained. We have made sure we have everything in place for handling every situation that can arise in future. Every possibility is speculated and a plan is prepared to handle and control that situation.

But we have failed to prepare the people involved in these legal bodies to show courage and act. This makes every system to fail. We see such situations around us and witness that no actions are taken. Everything in place, but people involved in that legal structure are so mentally weak, that they not even speak about the situation. Escaping from their responsibility is seen everywhere because of their weaknesses.

Whether it is a family, society or national and international body, same pattern and behaviour is observed. For example, we have UN (United Nations), an international organization founded in 1945, currently comprising 193 member states. It is dedicated to maintaining international peace, security, and human rights. All members in UN are of high profile and well educated. But the same UN members having high profile don’t act when needed. The wars repeatedly happening all over world shows the ineffectiveness of UN structure.

Is it because we have gone through a wrong or inappropriate education system for long time? The education system we have been through never prepared us to face tough situations. We haven’t been taught to act when needed. That is why we see all systems fail.

It is true that, our education system adopted by us for decades, teaches only a way to develop a skill so that we can get a job. Thereby one can earn money for leaving a better life. Is this enough?

How come a person who keeps earning for his own life is considered as successful person in general? Is it not because, all are taught that earning money is the success? Yes, it is. When we talk about successful people, we refer those who makes more money. We set them as role models for others as they can lead a luxurious life.

Should we have two parts in our education system, one focusing on skills of earning and another focusing on the social responsibilities?
